We just came back from our first trip to Paris and we found these 5 things absolutely essential during our stay.

1. Saily – eSIM

What It Is: Saily is a convenient eSIM solution that lets you access mobile data without the need for a physical SIM card.
Benefits:

  • No Need to Swap SIMs: Avoid fumbling with tiny SIM cards upon arrival. Simply install the eSIM before your flight or once you reach Paris.
  • Stay Connected: Enjoy uninterrupted mobile data for map navigation, restaurant recommendations, or messaging apps.
  • Cost-Effective: eSIM plans often offer competitive data packages—handy for budget-conscious travelers.

This eSIM solution allowed us to instantly have data as soon as we landed. This was great for communicating with our daughter and posting pictures

2. WATERFLY Crossbody Sling Backpack

What It Is: The WATERFLY Crossbody Sling Backpack is a compact yet spacious bag designed to free up your hands while you explore.
Benefits:

  • Hands-Free Travel: The crossbody style allows you to keep valuables close without the burden of a traditional backpack.
  • Organized Storage: Multiple pockets make it easy to store your phone, passport, wallet, and small souvenirs.
  • Comfort & Convenience: Lightweight and adjustable, the sling design distributes weight evenly, making it perfect for full days of sightseeing.

We kept our passports, wallet, facial tissue, and hand sanitizer right where we needed it with this backpack that  fit comfortably across the chest.

3. Universal Power Adapter

What It Is: A Universal Power Adapter ensures your devices charge seamlessly across different plug types, including the European standard.
Benefits:

  • Compatibility: Many universal adapters support plugs from more than 150 countries, so you can use it beyond just France.
  • Built-In USB Ports: Some models offer USB or USB-C ports, letting you charge multiple devices (phone, tablet, camera) simultaneously.
  • Compact Design: Generally small and easy to pack, so it doesn’t clutter your luggage.

The USB connections on the EPICKA Universal Travel Adapter was enough to keep both of our phones charged overnight while also charging a set of hearing aids.

4. A Simple Scarf

What It Is: A Simple Scarf is a lightweight accessory—great for fashion and function.
Benefits:

  • Weather Versatility: Even in warmer months, nights can get chilly. A scarf adds just enough warmth without needing a jacket.
  • Cultural Integration: Parisians are known for their effortless style. A scarf can be both a practical layer and a fashion-forward touch.
  • Space-Saving: Light scarves are easy to fold and tuck away in your bag when not in use.

Honestly, my wife was prepared and brought a scarf. I had to find one from one of the many tourist shops. It was the end of February and still cold enough to use all day while out and about.

5. Comfortable Shoes

What They Are: A pair of Comfortable Shoes is non-negotiable in a city best explored on foot.
Benefits:

  • Long Walks: With cobblestone streets and iconic boulevards, you’ll be walking a lot in Paris. Supportive footwear reduces fatigue.
  • Versatility: A sleek, comfy pair can transition from daytime sightseeing to evening dinners.
  • Prevent Blisters: Good cushioning and breathable materials help prevent discomfort, allowing you to enjoy every step.

You had better believe you will be walking A LOT while enjoying all Paris has to offer!

Whether you’re capturing photos of the Eiffel Tower or sampling pastries in a cozy café, having the right essentials can make all the difference in your Parisian adventure. An eSIM keeps you connected, a comfortable sling backpack and shoes help you explore with ease, a universal power adapter handles all your charging needs, and a scarf adds a hint of Parisian flair. With these items in tow, you’ll be well-prepared for whatever the City of Lights brings your way.
